Hot rolling involves milling the steel at high temperatures (typically over 1700°F), which is above the steel's recrystallization temperature. This process allows the steel to be shaped and formed easily, resulting in products that are easier to work with. Our Hot Rolled Carbon Steel Plates (Q235, Q345, S355) are engineered for high-stress environments such as bridge building and heavy machinery chassis.
While Cold Rolled steel offers a more refined surface, Hot Rolled Steel is the preferred choice for structural components where precise shapes are required but surface finish is secondary. However, our Pickled and Oiled (HRPO) process provides a bridge between the two, removing mill scale and applying oil to prevent rust, offering a clean surface ready for painting or plating.
