This term refers to the process of producing strip steel from a slab, typically a continuous casting slab, by heating it and then processing it through roughing and finishing mills. The resulting hot steel strip is then cooled to the desired temperature through laminar flow and coiled into steel strip coils by the coiler. The cooled steel strip coils undergo various finishing operations such as leveling, straightening, and cutting to produce steel plates, flat coils, and longitudinal cut steel strip products. These products are then inspected, weighed, packaged, and marked according to the users' needs. In essence, a steel billet undergoes multiple rounds of rolling after being heated, and then the edges are cut and corrected to form a steel plate. This process is known as hot rolling.
