SMSTEEL
The global greenhouse industry is undergoing a massive transformation toward high-density, automated farming. Dip Galvanized Steel Frames are the backbone of this evolution. From the vertical farms in North America to the sprawling poly-tunnels in Southeast Asia, the demand for corrosion-resistant, high-strength structural steel has reached unprecedented levels. Modern commercial greenhouses now require structures that can withstand extreme wind loads, heavy snow, and the constant internal humidity required for crop optimization.
Technological convergence is the leading trend. We are seeing a shift from simple galvanized pipes to high-performance alloys like Zn-Al-Mg (Zinc-Aluminum-Magnesium) coatings, which offer 5-10 times the corrosion resistance of standard galvanization. Furthermore, modular "click-and-lock" steel frames are becoming the standard for rapid deployment in large-scale industrial agricultural projects, reducing labor costs and installation time globally.
Global B2B buyers—ranging from agricultural conglomerates to construction firms—prioritize certification and traceability. Sourcing requirements often mandate compliance with ASTM A653, BS 1387, or DIN 2440 standards. Reliability in the supply chain, high-volume production capacity (reaching 100,000 tons per month), and the ability to customize steel spangle and zinc thickness (up to Z275 or higher) are critical decision factors for international procurement teams.
Founded in 2010, STEP MILLION is a leading steel material supplier and manufacturer in China.
Our production facilities cover over 66,700 square meters of factory space, staffed by more than 300 dedicated employees. With eight High-Frequency welded lines, each equipped to handle complex multi-step production, we maintain a monthly output of 100,000 tons. Half of our production is dedicated to the export market, serving clients in over 100 countries.
Our facility includes a specialized molding workshop and an R&D department featuring 20 engineers with over 10 years of experience. This allows us to innovate in products like Pre-Galvanized Steel Pipe and Hot-Dip Galvanized Square Tubing specifically designed for the greenhouse and construction sectors.

In regions with high salt spray and humidity, our Z275 Hot-Dip Galvanized frames provide the necessary chemical barrier to prevent oxidation. This ensures a service life of over 20-30 years without structural degradation, protecting the valuable crops and internal climate control systems.
For areas prone to heavy snow or gale-force winds, our ASTM A106 and Sch 40 carbon steel pipes provide high tensile strength. The hot-dip process ensures that even the interior of the pipes is coated, preventing internal corrosion that can weaken the structure from the inside out.
With the rise of urban rooftop greenhouses, weight-to-strength ratios are critical. Our specialized square and rectangular tubing offers a lightweight yet rigid frame that meets strict building codes for weight distribution on existing infrastructure.
As a core hub in the global steel supply chain, STEP MILLION STEEL maintains strategic partnerships with China's largest steel groups, including Hebei Iron and Steel, Baowu, Shougang, and Anshan Iron and Steel. This ensures we have a stable supply of premium raw materials even during market fluctuations.
Our competitive advantage lies in our Quality Control Protocol. With over 20 inspectors and equipment from Germany and Japan, we test every batch for coating thickness, tensile strength, and chemical composition. This commitment to excellence has earned us the trust of Fortune 500 companies like LG Electronics and localized giants like Xizi United.
The Hot-Dip Galvanization process involves immersing the steel frame in a molten zinc bath at approximately 450°C. This creates a metallurgical bond, forming several zinc-iron alloy layers topped with a layer of pure zinc. This is fundamentally superior to standard painting or cold plating, as it provides sacrificial protection—even if the coating is scratched, the surrounding zinc will corrode first, protecting the steel core.
For greenhouse applications, this durability is vital. Ammonia from fertilizers, high humidity from transpiration, and UV exposure can destroy lesser materials in years. Our frames are engineered to handle the thermal expansion and contraction typical of day-night cycles in desert or continental climates, ensuring the glass or polycarbonate glazing remains securely fastened and weather-tight.
Procuring from STEP MILLION STEEL means you are accessing a decade of expertise in metallurgical science. Our 20 R&D engineers work specifically on enhancing the surface finish and structural integrity of SHS (Square Hollow Sections) and RHS (Rectangular Hollow Sections), which are the preferred shapes for modern greenhouse engineering due to their torsion resistance.
